On 24th Jan 2014, the PRENAPS Uganda Executive Committee at it’s first quarterly meeting nominated members of the organisation’s Advisory Board. These include: Jane Achan (Chair), Gaston Tumuhimbise (member), and Rev. Fr. Dr. Deus Karemire (member). The Advisory Board’s primary role is to provide specific strategic advice to the Executive Committee and to arbitrate any conflicts arising among Executive Committee members. Together with the Executive Director PRENAPS Uganda, the Chair of the Advisory Board will from time to time constitute the primary delegation charged with representing PRENAPS Uganda at national and international meetings and/or conference and in dealings involving bilateral and multilateral donors.
We are excited to have two PRENAPS Uganda staff, Winny and Claire, accepted for the Bangalore Boston Nutrition Collaborative (BBNC) 2014 Short Course at the St. John’s Research Institute (SJRI). SJRI in conjunction with the Harvard School of Public Health and Tufts University are offering an interdisciplinary two-week course at SJRI. This International Nutrition Research Methods Course will introduce students to public health research topics through critical evaluation of scientific literature and exploration of a variety of demographic, epidemiological, biological and social factors that affect nutritional status. In addition to completing a core curriculum, students in this training will have an opportunity to explore selected research areas in-depth through development of a research presentation and collaboration with faculty members from 3 institutions.
